Jaydev Niranjan Shah was born on 4 May, 1983 in Rajkot Gujarat. He is a first class Indian cricketer who plays for Saurashtra cricket team. He is the son of Niranjan Shah who is the secretary of Board of control of Cricket in India and that gave him the chance to come more close to the game. Information is not available about his education. Jaydev Shah always wanted to be a cricketer and he had full support from his father as his father also belonged to the same field.

He had participated in many games from the school side and in that way; he got recognised for his playing and then gave him the chance to play Under 19 and also the Ranji trophy.

Jaydev Shah started playing with the Goa team for the first class cricket and then in the Saurashtra team and in both the teams, he could bring laurels and put the team on high notch position. In the 2007-08 Ranji Trophy one day games, he had changed the definition of the game completely where he was the captain of the Saurashtra team and led them to victory. That was the team’s ever first national title. In 2008 IPL, he was chosen by Rajasthan Royals to play in the team and he was also associated with the Rajasthan Cricket Association. On 20 October, 2016, he played the Ranji trophy against Maharashtra where he scored 217 runs and led the team to victory once again. He could score average scores in his tenure of cricket but he was consistent with his play and everyone appreciated him.
