The last elections in Uttarakhand were held in 2012 and Indian National Congress won the elections. After the results, Mr. Harish Rawat became the chief minister of Uttarakhand. The elections were held on 15 February 2017 and some of the major issues in Uttarakhand are unemployment, lack of infrastructure and education. Uttarakhand was left devastated after the Himalayan flood and at the moment a total number of seats in Uttarakhand are 70. In 2012, BJP got 31 votes whereas Congress secured 32 votes because of which Congress got a chance to form the government. There was just a slight difference in the results and that proved to be a great deal for BJP. This time, the tables can easily turnaround as Congress failed to deliver in its term. It is also being said that demonetization would not have any negative impact as 79% of people were happy with the note ban.
The results are going to be declared on 11 March 2017.

As per the polls conducted by India Today Axis Polls, Bharatiya Janata Party will get a total majority in the elections and there would be no need of forming any alliance with any other party. As per the result, Indian National Congress would suffer major loss because of poor performance in past term.

As per the polls conducted by VDP Associates, it is being said that the BJP is going to a clear winner in the elections and this time Indian National Congress would not be able to win elections. It is said that the congress is losing popularity all over the country and several corruption scams were also highlighted in Congress Era. That led to the downfall of the party.

Almost every opinion suggests that Bharatiya Janata Party will win the elections with a majority and this term would a testing term for BJP as people are planning to impose their trust in the party.
