Who is Uddhav Thackeray? –Uddhav Thackeray is one of the most prominent politicians in India especially in Maharashtra. Son of the famous Maharashtra Politician Bal Thackeray, Uddhav is now the President of Shiv Sena and also the Editor in Chief of the Saamna. He has assumed the office after Bal Thackeray.

Biography
Uddhav Thackeray was born in 1960 in Mumbai, the then Bombay. He came into politics along with his father Bal Thackeray who first launched Shiv Sena for Social Reforms but indulged in politics. His grandfather was a Social Reformer but the image of the Thackeray family changed soon Shiv Sena came to politics and contested the BMC elections. Uddhav Thackeray however was mainly involved with the mouthpiece editorial newspaper of Shiv Sena, Saamna before coming into the politics and lead his party to various elections. He is known for the differences with many Shiv Senavetran leaders like Narayan Rane and his cousin Raj Thackeray. Narayan Rane was dismissed from the party and Raj Thackeray disassociated himself from the Shiv Sena and launched his own party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena or MNS. He is a passionate photographer apart from a politician and is married to Rashmi Thackeray and has two sons.
Career
He remained associated with Saamna before Balasahed Thackeray decided to make him the Working President of Shiv Sena in 2003 after his party swept the BMC polls in 2002. However, in 2006, he saw a major setback when his cousin and one of the major leaders of Shiv Sena, Raj Thackeray left the party to launch his own. He however remained active and was made President of Shiv Sena and Editor in Chief of Saamna after the demise of Bal Thackeray.
